CFS is Hiring a Licensed Behavioral Health Professional - Skillbuilder Near Buffalo, NY

The Child and Family Services Licensed Behavioral Health Professional- Skillbuilder is responsible for providing psychiatric supports and activities, and developing treatment goals to assist the children in the Voluntary Foster Care Agency Programs.

If you are someone who has a passion for working in collaboration with a team including educational supports, medical services, and mental and behavioral health providers to support and empower children and families then this may be the role for you!

The Qualified Candidate will have:

  • A license in one of the following: Psychoanalyst, Clinical social worker, Marriage and family therapist, Mental health counselor or Master social worker
  • The ability to communicate effectively, clearly, concisely with others (both verbally and in writing), and consistently demonstrate a positive/proactive attitude.
  • The passion to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in their program and throughout the organization, and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with persons from all cultural, socioeconomic, education, racial, ethnic, gender identity, sexual orientation, professional backgrounds and the intersections of all identities.
  • A valid NYS Driver’s License and reliable transportation

As the Licensed Behavioral Health Practitioner- Skillbuilder you will:

  • Establish treatment goals for children, utilizing historical and current available information in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Assist children and youth to develop skills as defined in treatment goals
  • Provide psychiatric supports and milieu counseling
  • Provide individual treatment, substance abuse counseling and treatment, trauma-informed treatment, family and group counseling, and transitional counseling
  • Promote integration with community resources and skill-building
  • Provide psycho-education and wellness-education
  • Communicate with family, case planning staff, and medical practitioners
  • Utilize interventions drawn from evidence-based psychotherapeutic methodology
  • Structure interventions to decrease problems behavior and increase developmentally appropriate pro-social behavior
  • Complete required background checks upon hire
  • Complete mandated reporter training
  • Remain in compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulation to include NYSED guidance.

Competitive Salary of $58,500 per year based on a 35 hour work week
