Database EngineerOverview:

Based on our Platformand Technology team growth, we are actively hiring for a Database Engineer. This roleis responsible for developing, monitoring, maintaining and administratingMicrosoft SQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and Postgres database instances. Developmentwill be in support of application development and business intelligence teams,while leveraging best practices for optimized query performance and dataarchitecture.

What you’llget to own as a Database Engineer:

• Utilize Monday.com and Azure DevOps for task management and code review and migration.
• Review Redgate and Azure metrics for opportunities to improve database and application performance.
• Build and automate recurring database maintenance, monitoring, and audit tasks using SQL Agent jobs, PowerShell, or other means.
• Resolve logged warnings, errors, or process failures as needed.
• Support development efforts of the application teams, Enterprise Reporting data warehouse Azure Data Factory pipelines, Logic Apps and Function Apps.

• Gather requirements for reporting data needs across application stacks and team members
• Review SQL code for consistency and performance standards
• Develop data extraction, transformation, and load tasks supporting the data warehouse

• Development and tuning of stored procedures, views, and triggers based on coding standards and best practices
• Some after hours on call support for production issues will be required

Experience and working familiarity with: 

• Developing and optimizing efficient stored procedures, views and triggers
• Technical documentation, entity relationship diagraming (ERD)
• Database design best practices, normalization/denormalization, query optimization, referential integrity and logical database architecture.
• Data warehouse development and design and development concepts
• SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and/or Azure Data Factory development
• PowerShell scripting (or other scripting language) leveraged across multiple instances for monitoring and process automation.
• MS SQL Agent job management and trouble-shooting; Azure Elastic Job Agent
• SQL Server tools Extended Events, Redgate Monitor, Profiler and Tuning Advisor concepts
• MS SQL database server installation and configuration with MS SQL Server 2012 and above
• Understanding of SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS) development
• Familiarity with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), Azure Synapse, and reporting platforms such as wynEnterprise.
• MySQL, MariaDB, Postgres, and SFDC (3rd party API or ODBC) connectors experience
• Azure server or database instance administration
• Data instance file utilization and storage management
• tempdb optimization and management
• Backup management and verification
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA), clustering, mirroring, replication, and log shipping configuration
