SCOPE: Responsible for ensuring the clean, sanitary, and attractive appearance of the community, including all interior/exterior common areas and resident apartments.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Minimum 1 year of housekeeping/laundry experience preferred; strong verbal and written communication skills.

Licensing/ Certification: Obtain Dementia Certification within 60 days from the date of hire.

Essential Job Functions:

• Vacuum carpets
• Sweeping and mopping of all hard surface flooring areas
• Clean bathrooms: toilets, sinks, mirrors, showers
• Clean interior windows and sills as needed
• Clean porches as necessary
• Dust permanently mounted lamps and fixtures
• Ensure all lights in and around buildings are in proper working order.
• Complete a thorough cleaning of every occupied apartment weekly; cleaning a minimum standard of 10 apartments per day.
• Complete a deep cleaning of every occupied apartment twice per year to include carpet shampooing and linoleum waxing.

Housekeeping / Laundry:

• Clean and restock the service cart as needed.
• Use all cleaning equipment according to the manufacturer’s guidelines and inform the immediate supervisor of any problems with equipment.
• Ensure that apartments are ready for rental within three business days of vacancy (unless extenuating circumstances exist)
• Clean unoccupied apartments at Supervisor’s request.
• Assist department managers with preparing for special events held in the community.
• Bring all concerns regarding housekeeping and laundry to the Maintenance Director in a timely manner.
