CHB is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced individual to fill the role of Medical Coding Specialist to join our esteemed team.

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Coder to join our dynamic team. As a Medical Coder, you will play a crucial role in accurately assigning diagnostic and procedural codes to patient records for billing and reimbursement purposes. You will ensure that our coding practices adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities:

• Review medical bills, records, and documentation for accuracy and ensure proper coding, billing, and filing with insurance companies and government agencies
• Utilize knowledge of medical terminology, DRG, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes, and medical collection practices.
• Assign appropriate ICD diagnosis codes and CPT procedure codes to patient encounters based on medical documentation for billing and reimbursement purposes
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify information and resolve coding discrepancies proper coding.
• Performs an ongoing audit of client accounts to ensure optimum reimbursement and coding compliance.
• Stay up-to-date and ensure compliance with coding guidelines, including those set forth by the CMS and other regulatory bodies
• Collaborate with and give feedback to clients regarding coding and documentation guidelines; educate clients on coding policy and/or procedure changes
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations

Requirements (Experience):

• Minimum of 1 year experience in medical coding and medical terminology
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification preferred
• Proficiency in medical billing and coding systems, and medical office procedures.
• Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
• Experience with medical records management and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy in coding assignments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
