Responsibilities: Front Desk

  • Strong Front Desk check in and Check out experience.
  • Familiar with collecting co-pay, deductibles, referalls and authorizations
  • Verify patient insurance
  • End of day reconciliation
  • Dispensing DME's
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and team building skills
  • Coordination of the day to day operations of the office
  • Effectively implement directives, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain efficient operation of the office to achieve performance goals
  • Effectively coach and resolve staff and patient issues
  • Control Expenses
  • Supervision of patient scheduling, registration, financial counseling, medical records, billing and collection, data entry and processing, and cash posting
  • Interviews and trains a productive medical office team and conducts performance reviews
  • Ordering Supplies once per week-only what is needed
  • Monitor OTC sales
  • Appearance / Functionality of Office
  • Assist with marketing efforts for office and Physicians
  • Daily Checklists/ Monthly Critical Task Lists
  • Office Open and ready to answer phones by 8am.
  • Keep binders (OSHA, Policies and Procedures) up to date
  • Maintains and manages all filing for Diabetic shoe log, Orthotic log and Pathology log.
  • Track Metrics
  • Weekly Office Supervisor meetings.
  • Ensures staff is provided with the tools and training to suceed. Never under staff or over staff.
  • Office Supervisors don't work on the clock but must clock in and out everyday including lunch. A typical workday may be from 8am-5pm but is expected to perform until work is completed. First person to arrive and last to leave for the day. Work on a Saturday (Saturdays are rotated with all offices).
  • Interviews, hires and trains a productive medical off team. Anticipate needs with Operations.

Responsibilities: Medical Assistant (1 day per week in Brandon)

  • Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Accurately records patient history/chief complaint, vital signs, procedures completed on patients, treatments given and patient’s response to treatment as reported by the patient.
  • Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments
  • Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatment, including sterilization.
  • Assists physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and routine exams.
  • Assures that protocols are followed in compliance with OSHA and CLIA.
  • Assists with scheduling of tests and treatments.
  • Screens telephone calls for referral to physician and drug overrides.
  • Provides general information on office policies and procedures.
  • Gives information or instructions to patients per established guidelines and in consultation with the appropriate provider(s).
  • Assists in organizing and facilitating an orderly flow of patients from reception areas to exam rooms and subsequently to other patient care areas in the practice
  • Performs MRIs, X-rays and other procedures as required and for which trained
  • Participates in maintaining records required by regulatory bodies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, etc)

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of providing excellent customer service to all patients and visitors
  • Possess at least 1-2 years of experience in a medical office position, preferably in an podiatry setting
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a front desk position and understanding medical terminology and insurance verification
  • Highly energetic with positive attitude
  • Proven success managing a team
  • Strong computer skills, working knowledge of (e.g., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, email software). Typing competency with the ability to format, spell, punctuate and edit.
