Direct Support Professionals work with individuals with developmental disabilities. Duties may include: 

• Assisting people with disabilities with daily personal tasks, including bathing and dressing
• Completing housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, washing dishes and keeping the homes clean
• Shopping for groceries and preparing meals that meet specific client dietary needs of people supported
• Encouraging engagement in social networks and communities with people supported 
• Participate in community activities with people support to ensure engagement while ensuring their safety
• Document daily records on people support such as but not limited to: daily logs, behavior logs, vital logs, outcome/goal logs 
• Communicate to the RN any health and safety issues as they arise
• Follow all instructions related to Nursing Care Plans, Person Centered Plans and Behavior Plans and other related records 
• Communicate regularly to supervisor who oversees group homes 
• Attend professional development trainings 
• Participate in each person's person centered planning and received training on Person Centered Plans and Behavior Plans
• Report to shifts on time and prevent absents as this affects the lives of people supported
• If applicable- Certified Medication Technician requirements that require administration of medications, document on EMARs and secure all medications appropriately
