Position Title: Demand Planning Scheduler

FLSA Status: Full Time Permanent

Location: Whitehall

Department: Supply Chain

Report To: Replenishment & Operations Planner

Effective Date: 01/08/2024
Position Summary
The Demand Planning Scheduler is responsible for managing forecast, developing production schedules, reconciling and closing production orders, and ensuring order attainment. This position needs to understand the impact of the production plan and changes to the plan on internal departments and external stakeholders. As part of the Supply Chain team, this employee must collaborate closely with Production, Logistics, Sanitation, Quality, and Maintenance, and contribute to building and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement of processes, efficiencies, and productivity. 
Primary Responsibilities:
 
  • Create and post weekly production schedules. Send out updates and send out group text.
  • Lead weekly scheduling meeting.
  • Analyze and close production orders by the EOD after the run is completed. Send out reconciliation report.
  • Work with cross functional team to avoid shortages to customer(s). Look at customer orders and planned shipments.
  • Cycle count & order JF inventory MRO cabinet (Videojet supplies, labels).
  • Provide weekly update of orders, shipped, shorted.
  • Change lot algorithms for schedule.
  • Work with team to understand ramifications of schedule changes.
  • Track weekly orders to identify trends for product families/SKUs.
  • Track performance to plan.
  • Order bulk tankers. (T38) (Bulk deliveries dependent on schedule and production usage.)
  • Utilize available storage to best level load capacity. Balance superchill, freeze plan, etc.
  • Track and analyze efficiencies for changeovers between products/families. Determine optimal sequencing.
  • Update SKU level forecast in JF.
  • Perform ABC analysis.
  • Complete item card review in JF.
  • Participate in daily 7:30 a.m. startup meeting and daily 9:30 a.m. Whitehall Update.
  • Collaborate with outbound logistics and Shipping to ensure that On Time In Full (OTIF) and service level goals are met.
  • Actively participate in and assist with new product launches to ensure adequate trial time and production able to meet demand.
  • Assist and/or perform special projects and other duties.
 
Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, Excel proficiency preferred
  • Bachelor’s in business (Administration/ Finance/Operations/ Supply Chain) or equivalent work experience
  • 2-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment: in Logistics, Production, or Purchasing
  • Utilization of ERP in a production or logistics environment
