Cerebral Palsy of Westchester is Hiring a Residence Manager Near Westchester, NY

SUMMARY:

  • Responsible for ensuring the overall quality of life for the consumers in the residential setting, as well as the implementation of individualized services and programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervise all residential staff to ensure organization and implementation of activities of daily living, medication administration and completion of other assigned tasks. Ensure proper documentation.
  • Address disciplinary issues and maintain confidential and timely documentation of such issues, as directed by the Residential Program Coordinator and/or Director of CP/W Residential Program.
  • Develop timely and thorough evaluations of staff work performance. Provide feedback on an on-gong basis.
  • Interview and provide feedback to Residential Program Director and/or Human Resource Department on perspective candidates for employment.
  • Maintain a hygienic, safe and organized living environment as per physical plant regulations and ensure that environmental safety issues are corrected in a timely manner.
  • Schedule routine fire drills and maintain an up-to-date fire drill record.
  • Review Maintenance/Housekeeping and other checklists submitted by Assistant Residence Manager and address requests as needed.
  • Ensure appropriate inventory of supplies, including food, linens, kitchen accessories, clothing, recreation, etc.
  • Submit requests for consumer specific and household supplies and ensure that appropriate purchases are made in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate accounts of petty cash and consumer’s funds.
  • Complete and submit accurate payroll reviews on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Participate in the IDT process.
  • Advise the Residential Program Coordinator and/or Director of CP/W Residential Program of necessary changes in programs, staff and consumer issues.
  • Coordinate and monitor recreation and leisure time activities. Monitor daily activity schedule and participate in selection of community activities.
  • Meet with day program staff as necessary to ensure continuity of services and to address any concerns.
  • Assist the team with providing quality assurance checks on specific systems and routines and follow up to correct problem areas noted during informal observations, semi-annual quality assurance reviews and Medicaid audits.
  • Provide in-service training to all staff as directed and as indicated on the training schedule, including orienting new staff to their job duties.
  • Chair monthly staff meetings to share information, gather input, discuss concerns and provide training.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Residential Program Coordinator and/or Director of CP/W Residential Program.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to facilitate team work and to provide proper supervision and communication to all levels of staff.
  • Provide leadership to Assistant Residence Manager, Shift Leader, Residence Counselor and other residential staff.
  • Ability to work independently, to use common sense in work situations and to notify appropriate personnel of significant events.
  • Empathy for and understanding of the needs of the developmentally disabled.
  • Ability to understand and follow procedures.
  • Adhere to time and attendance policy and punctuality to ensure adequate supervision of program, staff and implementation of services.
  • Off-hours on-call flexibility to carry a pager/cell phone to address house specific needs.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, e-mail and the ability to complete and file assigned paperwork.
  • Maintain a valid New York State driver’s license.
  • Ability to meet the environmental demands of the position such as recreational and leisure activities, hospitalizations/emergency room visits, medical professional appointments, religious services and other functions or events as directed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors Degree and at least two years of experience working with the developmentally disabled and one year of supervisory experience.
  • Consideration will be given to those with a high school diploma, five years experience working in a residential setting and at least three years of supervisory experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62,400.00 - $63,000.00 per year
