Title: Obstetrical Scrub Technician (Part Time)

Shift: 06:00 PM to 06:15 AM.- 8 shifts per month, Some weekends and holidays

Position Summary works independently as a scrub in OR cases. Attention to detail and safety. Collaborates with the OB team and maintains supplies in the OR setting.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:

1.Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors

2.Checks supplies & equipment prior to surgical procedure

3.Scrubs, sets up, counts and assists intra-operatively.

4.Maintains highest standard of sterile technique.

5.Prepares instruments for decontamination.

6.Assists OB team with stocking and deliveries.

7.Follows WPH policies and procedures for infection control and fire safety.

8.Identifies and reports malfunctioning equipment appropriately.

9.Follows patient safety standards.

10.Completes competency requirements.

11.Completes 15 hours of continuing education credits as required by NY State Law.

12.Performs all other related duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED and MUST meet one of the following:

-Graduate from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) and holds and maintains a Certified Surgical technologist (CST) certification.

-Prior experience is required.

-Certification by a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization preferred.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $73,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
