Cepeda Systems & Software Analysis is Hiring a Communication/Network Field Engineer Near Huntsville, AL

Communication/Network Field Engineer

Cepeda Systems and Software Analysis, a rapidly growing small company in Huntsville, AL, is currently seeking a Communication/Network Field Engineer. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise for tactical communications equipment/ networked systems in support of research, development, integration, and acquisition efforts. 
  • Candidate must have ability to accept tasks and work independently to achieve task completion.
  • Candidate must have ability to learn new systems/communication equipment.
  • Candidate will work with government and prime contractor teams to assess component integration approaches, monitor progress, and determine the most effective improvements to a component integration strategy.
  • Candidate must be able to travel both CONUS and OCONUS with short notification(s)
  • Travel 50% of the time

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship required
  • BS degree and 2-5 years or a High School Degree and 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Active Secret security clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain
  • Must have valid passport
  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification (Security CE, CCNA-Security, CySA , CASP CE, CCNP-Security, CISA, etc.) to start in the position.
  • Experience with developing technical documentations, including briefs and presentations.
  • Experience with Cisco routing and switching design and configuration.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and other network protocols and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • The ability to work under pressure to ensure mission success.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work in real world situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Additional Required Skills: 

  • Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and/or Network certification
    • Ability to understand and decipher router configurations.
    • Strong understanding in network and IP protocols, routing, and firewall solutions
    • Knowledge of building configurations, updating IOS, applying STIG’s (Security Technical Implementation guide)
    • Troubleshooting of communications, network or firewall issues in a real time environment

OR

  • Installation, operation and troubleshooting of Military Satellite Communication equipment.
    • Ability to research, test and understand communication equipment and provided organized thoughts and suggestions in reference to that equipment in a concise and understandable manner.
    • Install, operate, troubleshoot and maintain communication equipment.
    • Installation and support of crypto environments

Preferred Knowledge and Experience: 

  • Strong Understanding of Tactical Communication Equipment
  • Ability to develop and execute testing of equipment/software.
  • Experience with fiber optic and networking cabling; troubleshooting, repair and installation
  • Experience with integrating and deploying LOS and SATCOM related systems such as the PRC family of radios, SMART-T, SNAP, CPN, JNN, Gators and COMSEC
  • A working knowledge of Link-16 Data protocols
