PROJECT COORDINATOR – RESIDENT OUTREACH

Part-Time Temporary

San Pedro, California


About the Job:

The Project Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the implementation of the One San Pedro Transformation Plan with the goal to increase the knowledge and utilization of services by Rancho San Pedro residents. This position reports to the OSP Director. The position is required to work successfully in a team with OSPI, HACLA, technical assistance providers, representatives from the public housing community including but not limited to businesses, community-based organizations and neighborhood representatives. The Project Coordinator maintains a direct reporting relationship with the Director, Community Development for One San Pedro. This position is temporary, part-time with approximately 20 hours per week.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Director of Community Development for One San Pedro, the Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting partners and residents and accessing needs associated with implementing the strategies identified in the Transformational Plan. Must be able to effectively evaluate programs, collect data, track progress, and draft reports. This position will work in partnership with the Director of Community Development to develop and or improve opportunities that will increase the knowledge and utilization of local services by Rancho San Pedro residents.

  • Identify and evaluate resident needs, based on their participation and experience.
  • Collect partner and resident feedback and data
  • Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with youth and their families
  • Connect youth and families to community resources and provide guidance and support in accessing resources
  • Develop an onsite mechanism to facilitate resident connection to community service agency resources and referrals, including personnel of community service providers, educational opportunities and support groups.
  • Provide support for local, and/or grassroots efforts promoting youth health and wellness.
  • Develop a site program schedule for residents with access to a variety of recreational, educational, and enrichment activities that help to prepare youth for success in school and life.
  • Manage delivery and evaluation of strategies.
  • Maintain regular communication with partners and residents.
  • Community Building – Support social events and community engagement opportunities designed to build greater community among residents to achieve grant goals.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated track record and passion for working with families.
  • Skilled in Microsoft office applications and basic office equipment
  • Excellent organizational and document management skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with, public officials, private sector officials, parents, and community leaders.
  • Ability to meet the needs of a diverse, low-income population.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate sensitivity to others.
  • Familiarity with basic computer software programs and ability to type.
  • Fluency in a language in addition to English is preferred.
  • Valid driver license
  • Pass background check, including live scan. TB test is recommended
  • Flexibility to attend some evening and weekend events/duties.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, public health, human services, psychology, social work or related field is desirable.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience coordaining and implementing access to services for families.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a social service, education or related field providing case management services.

  • Exposure to various types of weather conditions.
  • Sitting, walking
  • May include lifting to 20 pounds.


Compensation

  • $23.00 per hour, up to 20 hours weekly.
  • Onsite work
