Machinist Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Produce machined components to specifications by reading, drawings, or engineering information.
• Operate manual lathe
• Maintain equipment by keeping machine & work area clean
• Use material moving equipment
• Load and unload parts in and out of machine
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and precision instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
• Read and interpret shop work instructions and shop procedures.
• Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used for machining work

Wages: $23-25 an hour

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Considerable knowledge of machines and tools
• Welding knowledge is a plus
• Must be able lift up to 50 Lbs. on occasion
• Basic mathematics skills
• Knowledge of basic functions of manual lathe
• Use measuring instruments
• Proficient in blueprint reading
• Strong attention to detail

Other Requirements

• Successfully pass Pre-Employment Drug Screen, Background Check, Physical Exam, Customer Security Check, and E-Verify.
• Attendance – Must be available when scheduled for work
• Must be able to use time effectively and productively
• Must be able to communicate, understand and follow directions
