We're seeking a dedicated professional to serve as a Developmental Specialist. In this multifaceted role, you will provide invaluable guidance to teachers in effectively managing challenging behaviors, utilizing ABC data analysis to comprehend behavioral functions. You'll maintain meticulous and up-to-date records within our approved child and family information database, taking on the role of guardian for confidential data.
Responsibilities:
  • You will excel in the development of Individual Education Plans/Individual Family Service Plans (IEPs/IFSPs), attending eligibility meetings, offering interpretation, and collaborating with local educational and early intervention agencies. Your classroom observations will ensure alignment with IEP/IFSP objectives and timely disability screening and assessment.
  • Utilize strong relationship-building skills to engage parents and actively involve them in the special education journey.
  • Collaborate with community partners to support children with disabilities and mental health needs.
  • Conduct informative home visits for children with special needs, providing essential information about parents' rights in the special education process, gathering input for evaluations and mental health services, and offering guidance on home activities.
  • Manage mental health assessments and coordinate professional visits for children.
  • Collaborate closely with Family Service Specialists to deliver mental health services to children and families.
  • Ensure smooth transitions for children with special needs between educational programs.
  • Provide training to teaching staff and parents on topics related to mental wellness, child development, and working with children with disabilities.
