The System Operations Technician will be responsible for handling emergency leak calls. Perform natural gas line locates. Handling meter turn ons and turn offs. Responsible for residential and commercial meter and pressure upgrades. Perform all high pressure gas duties independently with pressures up to 1480 PSI. Works with customer service to communicate meter turn ons and offs, and residential and commercial meter installations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 5 years of related experience.
• Understanding of local codes and regulations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of natural gas infrastructure.
• Interpersonal skills required in dealing with Project Managers, vendors, contractors, and customers.
• Proven ability to manage and work with field construction and operational personnel in a hands-on manner.
• Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to work with customers, including those with complaints or problems.
• Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work with personnel at all levels, both within and outside the company.
• Overtime is required from time to time to meet the needs of the business.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to be on a rotating schedule of On-Call Duty.
