Overview

Under the direction of the Manager, Patient Financial Services, the Office Assistant I maintains patient files and provides billers with daily accounts to be billed.

Responsibilities

• Accurately sorts and delivers incoming and interoffice mail.
• Accurately prepares, posts and sorts outgoing mail following departmental policy and procedures and US post office regulations.
• Maintains organized patient account filing system, inputs items into proper files.
• Retrieves files as requested. Prepares files and files for storage following established procedure.
• Monitors completeness of unbilled files and notifies appropriate departments as needed.
• Distributes completed files to appropriate staff.
• Monitors receipt of required reports and files or distributes per established procedure.
• Processes attorney requests for copies of bills, obtains and retains necessary consents, provides documents and retains records.

Qualifications

Education:

High school degree required

Knowledge & Skills:

Ability to read, write and follow oral and written communications in English. Knowledge of alphanumeric filing systems
