General Purpose of the Position:· Responsible for leading the Site Maintenance Team in providing both a reactive and pro-active, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment.· Responsible for managing day-to-day maintenance activities including timely troubleshooting and root cause analysis.· Responsible for planning and managing all project work carried out by the Site Maintenance Team.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:· Understand and comply with all health and safety legislation.· Be aware of all actual and potential health and safety hazards in area of responsibility. This includes knowledge of the chemicals/hazardous materials being utilized and the appropriate controls required to ensure they are used safely.· Provide information to employees of all actual and potential hazards in the workplace.· Be knowledgeable of written instructions that detail the measures and procedures to be taken for the protection of an employee and ensures employees are knowledgeable about their Health and Safety related roles and responsibilities.· Ensure employees wear required PPE at all times.· Ensure that all employees know and adhere to safety requirements for all areas, follow standardized work instructions and perform process checks/inspections.· Inspect the work area on a regular basis to ensure requirements of CWI’s good housekeeping program are adhered to.· Understand and comply with responsibilities detailed in CWI’s Health and Safety system.· Provide monthly health and safety training sessions.· Develop and plan maintenance schedules on all repair and installation activities.· Develop a Planned Preventative (PPM) schedule and ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out.· Establish and maintain project charge numbers for all maintenance projects.· Review and approve all maintenance related purchase orders.· Manage contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements.· Respond to emergency calls for maintenance.· Responsible for maintenance budgets and KPI’s.· Oversee the purchasing of maintenance equipment, parts and spares to ensure optimum levels are always maintained.· Responsible for working with Purchasing Dept. to ensure applicable guarding, electrical and other regulatory standards are flowed down to equipment suppliers, in accordance with CWI procedures.· Assist Purchasing Dept. with sourcing material and equipment to support maintenance.· Maximize Plant availability through the implementation of planned and preventative maintenance.· Effectively interview, train, develop, counsel and discipline employees.· Monitor and assess employee performance and manage expectations.· Resolve personnel problems – investigate issues, identify solutions, recommend action.· Manage time and attendance for employees in computerized payroll system.· Instill and maintain strong customer service orientation.· Perform other duties as assigned.Position Requirements· High school graduate or equivalent required.· Degree or diploma preferred.· Experience in a manufacturing environment required.· Previous supervisory/managerial experience preferred.· Ability to understand manufacturing engineering processes.· Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.· Good computer skills including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.· Experience of Microsoft Project an asset.· Experience of MRP/ERP system preferred.· Project Management experience· Knowledge of health and safety legislation.· Knowledge of employment legislation.· Ability to manage multiple priorities.· Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.· Work in a safe manner.Competencies· Dependable and prompt.· Clear and concise communication skills (verbal and written).· Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills· Excellent time management skills.· Strong problem-solving skills.· Flexible.· Strong team player.Physical Requirements· Frequent standing.· Frequent walking.· Repetitive movement.· Bending and/or twisting.· Ability to lift 20-50 lbs. frequently· Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.· Wear protective or safety equipment.· Works indoors in non-controlled environmental conditionso Work in hot or cold temperatureso Exposure to sounds and noise levels that can be distracting or uncomfortableo Exposure to minor cuts or burnso Exposure to contaminantso Exposure to hazardous equipment· Work outdoors occasionally.
