Central Valley Indian Health, Inc. is Hiring a Dental Receptionist Near Clovis, CA

Central Valley Indian Health, Inc. (CVIH) is seeking a Dental Receptionist for our Clovis Clinic. The incumbent is responsible for providing dental front office services, including registering patients, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurances. Must possess good communication skills and be able to establish rapport with the patients & their families. Works closely with back office to update the patient and provide efficient patient care. Responsible for HIPAA compliance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a positive image of CVIH by greeting patients in a professional manner and see to their comfort and sense of well-being during their clinic visit. Inform patients of any changes that could delay their appointment/visit.
  • Register patients, obtain all baseline data necessary for the patient visit and follow-up appointment. Update dental record with insurance information, updated copy of insurance, eligibility, HIPAA notice, health history, and consents. Update personal information in electronic dental record, including address, phone number, pharmacy, etc.
  • Answer telephone in courteous and efficient manner; provide information to caller or route to appropriate staff.
  • Responsible for cancelling/rescheduling appointments based on provider schedule.
  • Notify Eligibility department if patient community changed.
  • Prepare and distribute routine dental correspondence and reports.
  • Responsible for verifying insurance eligibility before patient is seen. Copies of changes in methods of payment must be scanned into the Dental record.
  • Collect co-pays and deduct share of costs, as needed. Record and balance daily cash receipts and properly route to the Fiscal Department.
  • Notify patients by mailing letters that they have missed their appointment and need to reschedule.
  • Serve as back-up to the Dental Referral Clerk as needed, performing duties including but not limited to communicating with patients regarding the cost of treatment, submitting insurance pre-authorizations, and processing dental referrals.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality according to CVIH standards and protocols.
  • Communicate in a friendly and professional manner to others. Provide excellent service/support to all patients, employees, and outside contacts.
  • Any other duties assigned to the employee by his or her direct supervisor or CVIH Administration.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • One year experience in a dental office preferred.
  • RDA or CDA preferred.
  • Requires an awareness and keen appreciation of, or willingness to learn, Indian traditions, customs and socioeconomic needs. Ability to meet and deal effectively with Indian health organizations consisting of numerous tribes with varied cultures. Tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.

Qualified Veterans must submit form DD214 “Honorable Discharge”. A copy must be attached with application.

Qualified candidates must submit the Central Valley Indian Health employment application in order to be considered for the position.

Summary

This position is full-time Monday through Friday from 8:00-5:00.
