Central State University is Hiring a Remote Grants Manager

POSITIONSUMMARY:
The Division of Research and Economic Development (RED) at Central State University
(CSU) is seeking a grants manager to support post-award activities within the division.
The Grants Manager will oversee and be responsible for daily administrative and grant postaward
activities for assigned principal investigators (PIs). Provides expertise in support of all
post-award activities, including fiscal management, personnel appointments, allowable
expenditures, and compliance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Serves as primary specialist and contact on all assigned grants.
  • Responsible for interpreting regulations and guidelines of program funding and ensuring that
relevant project staff understand funding agency guidelines.
  • Analyzes project financial reports while identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Performs expenditure forecasts to help PIs with planning.
  • Coordinates procurement of all goods and services.
  • Makes travel arrangements, prepares itineraries, and process travel requisitions and
reimbursements.
  • Oversees personnel appointments, verifies accuracy and compliance with effort certification
and process adjustments if needed.
  • Ensures compliance with sponsor, University, and third-party regulations and procedures by
communicating and resolving mid-size compliance related issues.
  • Develops systems and maintains records that provide for the elevation and continued
documentation of assigned activities.
  • Prepares a variety of written correspondence, reports, procedures, directives, and materials.
  • Monitors reporting timelines and communicates them interdepartmentally to meet sponsor
requirements.
  • Monitors and supervises the technological and operational changes that affect work
processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • 3 – 5 years of relevant grant or contract management experience to include knowledge of postaward
grant administration.
  • Excellent analytical, oral, written, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills including word processing, and database management knowledge.
  • Proficient in report preparation.
  • Knowledge of institutions of higher education.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently of direct supervision and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
This position is eligible for hybrid and remote options.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, office systems
technology, or closely related field.
  • Experience: Three years of administrative experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Banner/Ellucian and sponsored research project management.
