Central Pacific Bank is Hiring an Institutional Trust Account Officer Near Honolulu, HI

Position Function:

This position is responsible for all aspects of client account administration with compliance and fiduciary standards. Additional primary responsibilities include participation in design and delivery of department high level of client services, relationship management, and business development ensuring the department meets all audit and regulatory requirements satisfactorily. Assist in the development, implementation, process improvement of Department and Bank initiatives that advance sound business practices and enhance customer satisfaction.

Performs all duties and interacts with internal and external customers in a manner that is expressly aligned with the Company's Core Values of approaching all actions with a “Voyaging Spirit” and being “Positively Ohana”. Primary Accountabilities:

  • Generate new institutional custody, investment and banking business through an organized and targeted calling program utilizing existing and new sources. Develop and maintain a referral and information network for advice, counsel, and referrals. Solicit referrals from appropriate sources within various areas internally and proactively build relationships with external businesses and organizations to create growth opportunity for the Bank.
  • Identify needs of customers and determine appropriate services that provide customers with the greatest potential to realize financial expectations. Assist in strategy development and execution to attain goals in all areas of accountability.
  • Responsible for the department’s administration of institutional custody accounts, primarily comprised of Taft Hartley clients. Responsible for maintaining and growing relationships with customers and related parties, which include investment consultants, auditors, third party administrators, and attorneys.
  • Continuously improve personal and professional status through education and development; must keep abreast of industry and regulatory developments, bank policies, procedures, and product/services at all times.
  • Represent the Bank in civic and community events with an emphasis on CRA qualifying activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma required.

Experience:

  • 6 years of successful marketing and servicing institutional trust customers with 3 years in financial industry required (a Bachelor's Degree can substitute for 2 years of work experience).
  • 5 years of management experience preferred. 

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.
  • Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
  • Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents.
  • Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time. Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.
