Position Description: Victim and Volunteer Coordinator will lead and support Victim and volunteer initiatives, ensuring compliance with policies, training, 
and program development. Build partnerships, monitor performance, and advocate for resources to enhance victim and volunteer services. Foster engagement, conduct outreach, and implement recognition systems to align victim and volunteers service with departmental goals.

POSITION SUMMARY: 
Under broad supervision, performs complex administrative duties and statistical, financial, or operational data analysis and reporting in support of management decision making in functional area. Identifies trends, discrepancies, and variances to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of 
operations. May partner with other departments, divisions, outside agencies, and vendors to address business issues. Exercises various latitudes of independent judgment. May administer or provide high level support for various projects, grants, contracts, implementation of procedures, and/or any 
specialized functions. Assists with orientation, training, or providing task guidance of junior team members. Provides strategic analysis. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
-Monitors the delivery of Victim and Volunteer Services Statewide o Works with statewide staff to ensure compliance with DJJ Policy Chapter 14. 
o Provides technical assistance regarding victim and volunteer services 
o Identify and advocate for needed of victims and volunteer services and resources 
o Monitors all assigned areas; providing monthly reports 
o Develops monitoring, tracking, and data related to interns and Transforming U. 

- Project Development and Management o Assist staff with implementation of programs/services 
o Establishes partnerships with community resources 
o Evaluates current policies and practices and provides feedback for improvement 
o Ensures projects are reviewed and approved prior to implementation

-Training and Technical Assistance o Provides ongoing/quarterly/annual training to staff regarding Victim and Volunteer 
Services. 
o Monitors database to ensure information kept in accordance with DJJ policies 
o Develops trainings as needed for the Office of Victim and Volunteer Services 

-Outreach 

o Conduct ongoing meetings to discuss upcoming events and partnership opportunities 
o Develops partnerships with multiple entities to establish and maintain a victim and 
volunteer base consistent with departmental goals 
o Serve as a link between victim, volunteers and department goals/initiatives 

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

-Knowledge of Sharepoint- A strong understanding of sharepoint management principles, 
including recruitment, retention, training, and recognition strategies. 

-Technical Assistance- Ability to provide technical assistance, helping them troubleshoot 
issues and improve related victim and volunteer services 

 -Monitoring and Reporting- Ability to monitor all assigned facilities monthly and provide 
detailed monthly reports on victim and volunteer service delivery. 
- Partnership Building- Strong networking skills to establish partnerships with community 
resources and assist field-based offices/facilities in leveraging these partnerships for 
program implementation. 

 -Database Management- Proficiency in monitoring the sharepoint database to ensure that 
staff, volunteers and interns receive proper training in accordance with DJJ policies. 

-Organizational Skills- Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, projects, and 
partnerships simultaneously. 

-Cultural Sensitivity- An understanding of and respect for cultural diversity and the ability to 
engage diverse backgrounds. 

-Problem-Solving- Effective problem-solving skills to address challenges and obstacles in 
victim and volunteer services to delivery and implementation of projects. 

-Communication Skills- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey 
information, instructions, and updates clearly to victims, volunteers and stakeholders. 

-Adaptability-Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and adjust strategies as needed 
to achieve program goals. 

MINIMUM (Entry) QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in human services or related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of experience related to area of assignment. Note: An equivalent combination of 
education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies 
required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year 
basis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
 Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or human services from an accredited college or 
university 
 Three or more years work experience in victim and volunteer services 
 Three or more years of managerial experience in victim services, volunteer services, human 
services, or social service field 
 Two or more years of direct experience working with victims of crime or recruiting 
volunteers
