We believe that who you are is just as important as what you do!If you are a problem-solver with a service first mentality and a passion for helping people, come join our team!As a Senior Pricing Actuary in Commercial Lines Department, you will be instrumental in conducting thorough risk assessments, refining pricing models, and providing strategic insights, all while leveraging data-driven approaches.How You'll Make an ImpactOwnership of rate level indications and the communication of results to Home Office and Regional personnelPrepare in-depth analyses of statistical experience and communicate the results to Home Office and Regional personnelCollaborate with Actuarial leadership on pricing strategyOwnership of actuarial portions of rate filings, including responding to questions raised by the various insurance departments.Support the business by identifying, building, and owning special projects that proactively meet the needs of the parties involvedAct as a liaison with Rate Committee, including presenting actuarial pricing strategy, evaluating rate proposals, and advising on the impacts of actions being proposedComplete peer review as well as review of Actuary/Sr. Analyst/Analyst work to ensure quality of work productsOwnership of communication with Central leadership, as well as external stakeholders and vendors.Ownership of the programming and development of repeatable processes to manipulate and query dataShepherd the continuous improvement of Actuarial processes and procedures based on industry trends and best practices in collaboration with the Research and Development Actuarial team.Ownership of any ad hoc projects as assignedComplete pricing and rate analysis as neededTrain others on Actuarial tasks as neededMonitor Actuarial Department communications for opportunities to collaborate and drive consistency in actuarial work productsWhat You'll Bring ACAS/FCAS DesignationMaster’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial science, Statistics, Analytics and 4 years of experience in an actuarial position or insurance pricingOr Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial science, Statistics, Analytics and 6 years of experience in an actuarial position or insurance pricingOr 8 years of experience in in an actuarial position or insurance pricingStrong skills with programming languages such as Python, SQL, R, SAS and VBAPossesses analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong math skills Possesses multi-tasking and prioritization skillsAbility to understand Central Insurance’s policies and processesPossesses excellent communication and presentation skills
