CENTRAL MAINE POWER CO is Hiring a Remote Manager - Meter Services

Position Information Location: Portland, ME Pay Range: Salary: Office Job Description Manages supervisors who, plan, train, and direct Electric Meter Technicians and meter lab technicians. Directs and controls the safe construction, operation, and maintenance of revenue, system, and system interconnection metering. Responsible for ensuring completion of all site analysis of advanced metering systems including Industrial customers, Sub Station Tie-Points, Merchant Plants, and other Generation facilities to ensure Meter Accuracy and compliance to Regulatory and Industry standards. Ensures that construction and maintenance work is completed in accordance with construction standards, adhering to approved policies, procedures, safety rules, budgets and in a manner that promotes customer satisfaction. Regularly interacts with and supports Line Supervisors/Managers, Distribution Field Engineers, Meter Engineers, ESA’s, Settlement Group, Electrical Engineers, Electrical Contractors, State and Local Electrical inspectors to solve problems / concerns that arise and coordinate work. Completes SAP Work management tasks in office as well as meeting various personnel in the field. Develops and presents technical training for continued development of Meter / Measurement Technicians. Conducts meetings/training with subordinates for dissemination of information concerning work priorities, safety, new equipment, policies, and procedures. Keep current on all department related areas (i.e. CSS, SAP, CCS, Standards, Code requirements, tools) by reviewing of manuals and standards and training subordinates with this information. This also includes Field Safety contacts to ensure adherence to company safety rules/policies as well as OSHA and NERC CIP compliance. Key Responsibilities 1. Plans, schedules, assigns, and directs work of supervisors and Meter Technicians to ensure safe and efficient operation of the daily field activities to meet standards of excellence and/or service guarantees. Provide information to customers, electrical contractors, engineers, and architects in order that electrical installations may be connected to Opco’s system in a safe and uniform manner. Ensures adherence to Distribution and Substation Construction Standards and OSHA 1910.269 Maintenance Standards for the safe installation and maintenance of Revenue and System metering. Plans, coordinates and field visits with various departments and Electrical Contractors relating to the installation, maintenance, and NEC and NESC compliance of electrical services and metering systems. Reviews customer and ESA provided Load Data for the proper selection and sizing of Instrument Transformers and Meters to ensure safe and accurate Revenue Metering. Assess the scope of projects and assign appropriate crew and skill balance. Arrange for any special equipment and ensures that all material needs are met. Utilizes SAP and CSS or CCS for installation and proper establishment of accounts according to Opco Terms and Conditions, Rates and Tariffs. Works with Energy Services Advisors and Key Account Managers for the installation of customer requested Advance Meter Options (40 %) 2. Plans and coordinates the efficient completion of all Site Analysis including MPUC and OP18 regulated testing of Telemetering and non-telemetering installations to ensure the accuracy of measurement devices. Monitors accuracy of test records for auditing purposes and ensure compliance with MPUC. Oversees meter Lab for the calibration of all testing equipment to ensure NIST tractability and for the safe and proper operation by field personnel. (25 %) 3. Helps develop and ensures completion of all safety and Compliance training including NERC CIP. Trains personnel in theoretical and practical application of metering systems. Evaluates and documents performance and progression. (20 %) 4. Provides technical support to other departments regarding FOP, Meter Skills Training, NEC, CMP’s, Handbook of Requirements & Construction standards. Works closely with Chief Meter Engineer for the development of Standards, Metering Equipment, and pre-engineering of Installations at more advanced locations. Attends IAEI and SEA local meetings to continue education and develop positive relationships with State and Local inspectors as well as Electrical Contractors. (10 %) 5. Develops and monitors the budget and inventory levels in area of responsibility and assists with restoration efforts during storm and other emergencies as well as Energy Diversions. (5 %) Required Qualifications Skills/Abilities Results and customer service oriented and anticipates future needs. Strong verbal and written communications skills Self-directed work skills with strong emphasis on multitasking. Strong supervisory and project management with ability to read wiring diagrams / prints Computer skills applicable to (but not limited to) SAP, CSS or CCS, Microsoft Office, particularly Access databases and multiple Meter Vendor Software. Analytical and problem-solving skills Demonstrated supervisory and resource management skills Ability to train Valid Motor Vehicle License Experience/Training: 6-10 years of related experience in Technical Metering and Utility Construction Standards Extensive supervisory experience Knowledge of electrical or mechanical technology, control circuits, meters, instruments, meter principles, electronics, digital electronics, physics, electric power systems, blueprint reading, Energy Management Knowledge of industry codes including NEC, NESC, OSHA, OP18, MPUC requirements Familiar with principles and information contained in the Handbook for Electricity metering Competencies Growth & Continuous Improvement Initiative & Change Focused on Results Customer Centric (internal and/or External) Communication Collaboration Leadership (people managers/leaders) AVANGRID is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
