Central Garden & Pet is looking for a SEO Specialist for the Dog & Cat business supporting Nylabone, Four Paws and Cadet. This role will sit on the E-Commerce and Digital Marketing team reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager. It will focus on SEO and support Website Projects, Email Marketing, Paid Digital Advertising, & E-Commerce efforts.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
Digital Marketing - 

• Develop optimization strategies that increase the brands' search engine results rankings.
• Review technical SEO issues and recommend fixes.
• Execute off-page optimization projects (e.g., link-building).
• Set measurable goals that demonstrate improvement in marketing efforts and regularly report on metrics to stay informed of SEO strategy performance.
• Conduct keyword research to identify SEO opportunities.
• Contribute to the production of compelling and high-quality content for digital and e-commerce channels including brand websites, newsletters, and e-commerce pages.
• Collaborate with web development team to ensure SEO best practices are properly followed throughout website.
• Keep abreast of SEO marketing trends for opportunities to drive greater performance.
• Project manage key brand web development projects.
• Perform assessment of direct-to-consumer implementation SWOT.

General Duties & Responsibilities - 

• Conduct quantitative/qualitative research to guide brand communications and marketing strategies.
• Produce competitive analyses.
• Drive team discussions regarding how brand.com insights translate into actionable recommendations.
• Utilize reporting to demonstrate results of digital marketing efforts to team.

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES: 

• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
• 2-3 years of experience in successfully developing and executing SEO projects
• Knowledge of website UX/UI
• Understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking methods
• Knowledge of standard & current SEO practices and HTML/CSS
• Experience with owning analysis and reporting of SEO projects and website performance
• Familiarity with relevant tools (e.g., Conductor, Screaming Frog, SEMrush) and web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console)
• Experience with brand movement to direct-to-consumer a plus
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong self-direction and initiative; willingness to take complete ownership over specific activities while adapting to quickly changing shifts in priorities
• Proficiency in using the applications within MS Office
• Eagerness to test and learn, with a willingness to fail, but the drive to succeed
• Outstanding problem solving and prioritization skills
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence others and drive results through collaboration
• Ability to thrive in a creative, fast-paced environment that emphasizes excellence and teamwork
