A laboratory technician works closely and with the advice of a laboratory technologist in the performance of diagnostic procedures. Procedures are performed as efficiently and expeditiously as possible. Laboratory technicians may exercise limited independent judgment and work under the supervision of a laboratory technologist, supervisor or director.
