Central Dauphin School District is Hiring a School Psychologist - District Wide 2 Openings (24-25 School Year) Near Harrisburg, PA

FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR

SUMMARY

The role of the school psychologist at Central Dauphin School District includes serving as a diagnostician for the purposes of providing assistance to teachers, school counselors, parents, and other professionals in determining and providing the best instructional and behavioral strategies for the social, emotional, and intellectual needs of both regular and special education students. In making such determinations, the school psychologist dutifully recognizes the diverse cultural backgrounds of the students serviced within Central Dauphin School District. Additionally, the school psychologist may become involved in providing individual or continuous counseling to promote wellness and resilience among students. Lastly, psychological testing, for the purpose of special education identification, is completed by the school psychologist.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certification: Must have a School Psychologist Certification.

Knowledge and Skills: Visual acuity to read reports, correspondence and statistical reports. Auditory acuity to effectively use a telephone system and to listen to people.

Abilities: Must be able to work effectively with many types of students/individuals. Ability to be patient, diplomatic, firm, direct. Maintain composure in stressful situations. Must have excellent cognitive abilities. Ability to read, listen, comprehend, and write. Ability to manage budget, work independently and in large and small groups.

Education and Experience:Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Psychology with Pennsylvania Certification as School Psychologist.

Pay Rate: $56,083-$90,959 (based on highest earned degree and years of experience)
