Responsible for planning and organizing the day-to-day operation of the campus post office and performing various mail service functions. Typical schedule will be under 20 hours per week between the post office hours of 9am-4pm, Monday - Friday. Occasional hours outside of these time frames may be scheduled as needed and will include summer hours.
Process incoming mail including campus mail, USPS, and additional mail carriers
Sort and distribute mail
Categorize packages
Sort business reply mail
Forward mail
Pick up mail from the Pella Post Office and Central Hall and deliver packages across campus as necessary
Process outgoing mail
Determine proper mail carrier
Meter mail using mail software to charge back to each department
Prepare money for USPS and required daily USPS and UPS reports
Perform audits of cash on hand
Provide window services for students and staff
Sell stamps and postage according to USPS regulations
Process money orders
Process special mailing requests including registered, certified, and insured mail.
Job Requirements:
High school degree or equivalent. Minimum of one-year administrative office experience.
Ability to lift, pull or push up to 50 pounds and stand consistently up to 4 hours.
Valid driver's license.
