Position Role/Tile: Web Developer
Location: Kennesaw, GA.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Two (2) years related work experience in information technology or web development
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW AND/OR INSTITUTION:
None
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)
Knowledge of Salesforce and/or Pardot systems
Experience with e-commerce platforms
Experience with Registration systems
Experience in Higher/Professional Education
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*:
1. Creates and implements enhancements and modifications to websites
2. Organizes maintains, and updates websites
3. Optimizes sites for maximum speed, scalability, and accessibility
4. Designs develops, and implements UX workflows
5. Creates microsites as assigned
6. Develops, customizes, and launches WordPress themes
7. Collaborates with other team members and stakeholders
8. Works with a variety of coding systems (i.e., HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP)
9. Monitors site performance and provide data on usability, performance, and access
10. Makes recommendations on corrections to optimize performance
11. Monitor the execution of automatic scripts
12. Monitor the integrations between websites and other legacy systems
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
• Experienced with FTP, SSH, and LAMP stack
• Understanding of modern web design principles and UX best practices
• Proficient understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP
• Knowledge and experience with responsive design and Mobile First Design
• Familiarity with deploying Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
• Understanding of JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as jQuery, and technical SEO
principles such as robots.txt and sitemaps
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools and familiarity with tools such as Photoshop
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
• Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one-time meeting assigned deadlines
• Able to evaluate new and evolving technologies
• Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, independent judgment,
organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management,
and presentation skills
• Cultivates analysis and development skills by learning new and emerging technologies
• Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e.,
Microsoft Office suite, WordPress, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Photoshop)
• Proficient in WordPress development, theme customizations, and plugins
• Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
• Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
