Job Responsibilities:
Perform routine small and large scale operations, including expression media/buffer preparation, flask bacterial recombinant protein expression protocols utilizing centrifuges, chromatography based purification operations on AKTA instruments and routine protocol improvements
Perform biophysical assays and analysis using SEC chromatography, static and dynamic light scattering and mass photometry instruments
Hands-on experience running the RDS Nanopore sequencing platform
Work using best laboratory practices, maintaining well-organized and concise records of work performed and results.
Collaborate and work closely with cross-functional teams
Job Requirements:
Good understanding of Molecular biology, Protein biochemistry or related discipline
Strong wet lab skills and experience in experimental design
Experience with recombinant protein expression and purification techniques such as IMAC and FPLC. Experience working with biological pores, ion channels, membrane proteins, liposomes or protein-lipid interactions is a strong plus
Any experience executing or designing biophysical experiments aimed at understanding molecular interactions will be favored.
Ability to work well in teams and across disciplines with complex systems
Excellent written and oral communication skills
The candidate should be self-motivated with a strong desire to acquire on-the-job training
Education:
Bachelors of Science or higher degree required, in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering or Life Sciences.
