Schedule: Casual | Hours as needed | Average of 16-32 hours every two weeks 

JOB SUMMARY:

• The Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound procedures on patients.
• Operates ultrasound equipment, records test results and updates patient records for referring physician.
• Technologist must work effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other customers to maintain a cooperative relationship.
• The Technologist must follow established protocols, and procedures.

EDUCATION:

• Completion of an accredited sonography program and
• Preferred Certified in ECHO for ultrasound.
• ARDMS registered or registry eligible.

• Knowledge of imaging equipment, theory, principles, techniques, and procedures.
• Knowledge of injuries, illnesses, and defects.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and software used for digital imaging.
• Ability to demonstrate clinical competence and maintain current knowledge in working with newborn through geriatric patients.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
• Ability to work where activities are characterized by frequent change and interruptions.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment, seeking assistance when appropriate and necessary to ensure patient safety.
• Ability to read and interpret patient orders and documents and to follow procedures and directions.
• Ability to understand spoken and written information and ask questions as needed; ability to complete written documents. Proficient in the English language, meaning, spelling and use.
