Find your purpose being a leader in our Sterile Processing Department! We are seeking a Lead with experience in both a Sterile Processing Environment and the supervision side of things. This Lead position will be responsible for and oversee Case Carts, Sterilization and Sterile Core. Our Sterile Processing Department operates out of one of the most desired work environments in the entire St. Cloud Hospital, with gorgeous year-round views of the Mississippi River! 

As an SPD Lead with CentraCare, you will ensure patient safety and decrease infectious risk to our patients by being responsible for ensuring all surgical supplies, equipment, and instruments are properly decontaminated, disinfected, inspected, sterilized, inventoried and distributed in a quality and timely manner throughout the health system. 

• Follows all hospital policies and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Guidelines to ensure the highest level of patient safety. 
• Is responsible for use of technologies such as copier/scanner, internet, handheld devices, electronic medical records, instrument tracking systems, inventory management systems, email and Microsoft office. 
• Typically acts as a lead, coordinating and checking the work of others. Works autonomously within established procedures and practices.
• Leads will coordinate and check the work of others within the Sterile Processing Department.

HOURS:

Full time, 2:30pm – 11:00pm shifts Monday-Friday. Weekends and Holidays are pretty much your own. We may need you once in a great while if business needs arise.

WAGES:

• Hourly wage starting at $19.66, increasing with Experience. The Hospital will also pay you a $1.50/hr Shift Differential on top of your hourly rate!

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or GED graduate or equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE:

• 3 years minimum of experience in a Sterile Processing Department (SPD) or medical related field required.
• Must have training in Sterile Core

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required.
• Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Personnel Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Personnel (CSPDT) required.
• Educational requirements and certified status must be maintained throughout the duration of his/her employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Secondary Certification of Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL), Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS), Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER), or other secondary certification preferred.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have an advanced working knowledge of microbiology, infection control principles, sterilization practices, and inventory handling and management.
