Job Summary: 

Join the CentraCare team as a Licensed Practical Nurse(LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Department! The LPN or CMA, under the direct supervision of the PM&R providers, utilizes nursing processes in providing direct and indirect care of patients to meet their physical, educational, psychosocial and spiritual needs.

Our PM&R clinic offers services to adult patients with a variety of conditions including stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, spasticity, and various musculoskeletal issues (arthritis, tendonitis, etc.).

Primary Duties:

• Provide patient focused rooming for all types of clinic visits.
• Prepare for clinic procedures including medications and equipment.
• Assist providers with clinic procedures including ultrasound guided joint injections, nerve blocks, Botox injections for spasticity, and electromyography/nerve conduction studies (EMGs).
• Assist with responding to patient questions, managing refill requests, and communicating results and other pertinent medical information to patients and providers.
• Assist in assuring the day-to-day activities of the clinic are completed timely and efficiently.
• Support and implement patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate.
• Support and demonstrate Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients, families, and co-workers.

Schedule:

• Casual shifts 
• Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm or 9:00am to 5:30pm with opportunities for flexibility 
• No evenings, weekends or holidays!

Pay:

• Starting at $19.66 per hour (LPN) or $18.62 per hour (CMA)
  • Increases ​dependent on years of experience. 

Requirements:

Licensed Practical Nurse

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Minnesota required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required per established policy
• Ability to understand patients’ medical records, physician orders and medication orders to be communicated to the patient and staff

OR

Medical Assistant

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program. 
• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) with one of the following: 
• American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
• American Medical Technologists (AMT)
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
• National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
• National Association for Health Professionals, Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
• Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
• Must provide proof of pass notification prior to start with verification of official certification or registration within 3 months of exam date
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required per established policy
• Ability to understand patients’ medical records, physician orders and medication orders to be communicated to the patient and staff
