Summary

The Transition Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution and completion of multifaceted transition projects and initiatives within Deposit Operations. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing various complex transition projects and initiatives from inception to completion, while ensuring they align with the department's goals and objectives. Possesses the ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage resources, and deliver and support transition projects and initiatives on time and within budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Transition Project and Initiative Planning and Execution
    • Define scope, objectives, and deliverables
    • Develop transition plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring projects and initiatives are delivered on time and within scope
    • Lead meetings and provide clear directions to cross-functional teams
  • Team and Transition Leadership
    • Responsible for motivating others; Seeks and utilizes internal and external resources to improve the department
    • Form, assemble, and lead cross-functional teams
    • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence with the team; Lead and mentor stakeholders
    • Delegate tasks and responsibilities, ensuring team members are accountable for their contributions
  • Resource Management
    • Identify and allocate resources required for execution of transition plans
    • Monitor resource utilization and make adjustments as necessary
    • Ensure teams have the necessary tools, equipment, and support to complete their tasks
  • Risk Management
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans
    • Proactively address issues and challenges that may arise with change events
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and quality standards
  • Communication
    • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates on status, progress, and potential issues
    • Prepare and present status reports to department leadership
  • Budget Control
    • Monitor expenditures and ensure adherence to the allocated budget
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize expenses
  • Quality Assurance
    • Ensure that deliverables meet quality standards and departmental objectives
    • Implement and maintain quality control processes
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including transition plans, schedules, and reports
    • Prepare post-mortem evaluation reports to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders
    • Build relationships and work closely with operational teams, technology team, other departments, and external vendors to understand business requirements, identify opportunities for enhancements, and ensure overall effectiveness of operational needs
    • Address stakeholder concerns and communicate effectively with management on status and performance
  • Department Transformation
    • Directly impacts the future success of Deposit Operations
    • Review departmental objectives, evaluate new approaches to problem solving, and assess changing facts or conditions
    • Study trends and variances and act upon findings
    • Set transformation precedents to impact long-term department operations
    • Establish policies and procedures

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience or familiarity with core banking providers, applications, and financial services industry
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse teams in a diplomatic manner
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities, and exercise independent judgement
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to independently interpret data and trends to make informed decisions
  • Adaptable and open to learning new processes and technologies
  • Proven ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and propose solutions to resolve complex and multifaceted issues
  • Willingness and ability to participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of operations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Project Management, or a relevant field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with a track record of successfully delivering projects and initiatives on time and within budget
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
  • Proficiency in project management methodology, software, and tools
  • Proficiency in using banking software and systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications

**Department hours are Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00 CST
