Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is Hiring an Insurance specialist Near Woodlawn, MD

Duties

  • Develop, evaluate, and implement policies related to education and outreach activities. May also serve as an ad hoc team / project leader or member involved in various activities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit.
  • Oversee and coordinate with other CMS operating components in the development and maintenance of the Medicare beneficiary and provider audience communications.
  • Develop, evaluate, and implement policies related to education and outreach activities.
  • Analyze internal policies, processes, and procedures to assure increased efficiency in operations and implement policies, procedures, and processes to resolve problems and improve internal operations.
  • Research all program issues and develop the appropriate response that include CMS regulations orpolicy issuances.

In order to qualify for the GS-13 , you must meet the following : You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include :

1) Publicizing consumer education products to communicate health care program options to customers; AND

2) Organizing outreach activities such as public relations, publications, conferences, and presentations associated with health care programs; AND

3) Serving as an ombudsman to investigate and resolve customer complaints as related to health care education and outreach activities.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.

g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

This position will be in direct support of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. This Act increases healthcare spending by nearly $100 billion, mainly by extending the American Rescue Plan's temporarily-expanded Affordable Care Act (ACA) premium tax credits for an additional three years, through 2025.

The bill will also allow Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices, implement improvements to Medicare Part D including a benefit redesign and new manufacturer discount program, impose inflation rebates for Part B and Part D drugs, and other miscellaneous changes in Part B and Part D to improve the affordability of prescription drugs.

Workplace Flexibility at CMS : This position has a regular and recurring reporting requirement to the CMS office listed in this announcement;

however, CMS offers flexible working arrangements and allows employees the opportunity to participate in telework combined with alternative work schedules at the manager's discretion.

This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process. Supervisory positions must report a minimum 2 times per week and non-Supervisory positions must report a minimum of 2 times per pay period.
