Description of Position/Purpose:
The Finance Manager functions as the responsible person in the organization for providing accountability of the financial affairs of the organization.
Job Duties:
This position necessitates good staff interaction and communication skills. This position necessitates the accounting background to provide the ability to be a problem-solving individual.
Design, develop, implement, and manage financial and accounting information systems.
Prepare accurate external and internal financial reports, including but not limited to: governing board reports, management reports, cost reports, payroll tax reports and forms, information returns and reports, dashboards, UDS reporting.
Serve as trustee for Centerpoint Health (CPH)'s 403(B) Plan. Duties include recording of financial transactions, and working closely with administrative consultants.
Assist with supervising the day-to-day operations as requested or required.
Prepare, implement and manage operating and capital budgets; prepare monthly financial statements and reports within specified timeframes; develop long-range planning goals.
Participate in strategic planning. Lead and support achievement of fiscal strategic initiatives.
Assist and work closely with CPH’s independent auditor for the purpose of enabling the auditor to express an opinion on the financial statements of CPH.
Assist in preparing and reviewing contract documents.
Other duties as assigned.
Certifications/Credentials:
Education: BS degree (4-year) from accredited college or university, or demonstrated experience.
Certification and Licensure: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
Experience: Two years practicum in accounting. Health care background preferred.
Specialized Skills & Knowledge: Computerized spreadsheet knowledge. (Excel preferred). Computerized general ledger knowledge. Non-Profit accounting techniques (preferred). Cost accounting and financial accounting techniques. Medical/Dental practice management skills (preferred). Cost reporting and cost determination. Defined Contribution Pension Plan administrative and accounting skills.
Blood-Borne Pathogens Exposure: Category III
