Centerpoint Health is Hiring a Dentist Near Norwood, OH

Centerpoint Health is an FQHC seeking Dentists. We have openings at our Norwood and Franklin Ohio clinic locations. We provide services in primary health care, dental, ob-gyn, and behavioral health, and are in need of full-time or part-time Dentists to join our amazing team!
The Dentist will deliver diagnostic, preventative, and restorative dental care services to patients. The Dentist will oversee the work of auxiliary dental staff and the operations of the dental practice to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures, the appropriate maintenance of equipment, and inventory management.
Job Duties:
  • Provide quality dental care to patients within scope of provider's Ohio license and health center scope of practice. Participate in collection and review of dental quality improvement measures.
  • Direct scheduling activities for dental services.
  • Refer patients for care, when service needed is outside the health center’s scope of practice.
  • Document in the patient's dental records relevant assessment, diagnostics, treatment plans, and services delivered.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate treatment and medication information to patients, parents or guardians, and clinical staff.
  • Provide supervision for dental staff including selection, training, coaching, discipline, and performance reviews; assist with scheduling of dental staff to ensure productivity and quality dental care.
  • Recommend purchases of dental equipment and supplies within budget.
  • Participate in resolution of patient grievances regarding dental clinic operations.
  • Represent the health center to the Board of Governors, other agencies, dental society meetings, and the community as necessary; assist with clinic tours.
  • Oversee and supervise dental policy.
  • Travel throughout the state and country to attend meetings, seminars, or conferences.
  • Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.
This position also has the potential to be as a Dental Director over the health center Dental department, depending on candidate interest and qualifications.
Additional Job Duties if designated as Dental Director:
  • Oversee dental program, including the development and implementation of program policies and procedures.
  • Develop systems to ensure continuing education and improvement plans for clinical competencies for dentists and dental assistants.
  • Direct the development and implementation of treatment protocols per evidence-based practices.
  • Provide supervision for dental providers including selection, training, coaching, corrective action, and timely performance reviews; assist with scheduling of dental providers to ensure productivity and quality dental care. Provide feedback on dental assistants and participate in the selection of staff.
  • Participate in the development and assessment of clinic plans and program goals, providing input into the budget development process as needed.
Certifications/Credentials:
Education: DDS or DMD degree from an accredited School of Dentistry required.
Certification and Licensure: Current unrestricted State of Ohio dental license. DEA registration required.
Experience: Two years of experience as a clinical dentist required. Experience in family dentistry strongly preferred. Previous experience in community health center or public health preferred.
Additional Skills/Qualifications:
  • Ability to perform dental treatment activities and procedures across the lifespan of patients.
  • Knowledge of current evidence-based dentistry practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an integrated health care environment.
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills when interacting with patients, families, and other health care providers.
  • Ability to work with interruptions, manage priorities, and work unsupervised.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Previous knowledge of Electronic Dental Records preferred.
  • Perform lab functions and use of panoramic dental scanner based on medical necessity.
  • Ability to spend significant time standing. Ability to use equipment that requires fine motor skills.
