Centerline Logistics Corporation is Hiring a Procurement Director Near Seattle, WA

Overview

Oversees and takes ownership of the purchasing functions of Centerline Logistics and its subsidiaries to ensure the company receives optimal pricing, delivery prioritization, and customer service across both day-to-day and capital project level purchasing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiates with suppliers to obtain the best combination of price, quality, quantity, delivery and supplier responsiveness consistent with Centerline’s historical and projected purchasing trends.
  • Analyzes historical and projected purchasing trends, inventory levels, and materials supplied by various suppliers to ensure Centerline and its subsidiaries are able to gain volume pricing, expedited delivery, and appropriate vendor support.
  • Coordinates with various departments around vendor requirements to ensure timely fulfillment of goods and services for capital projects.
  • Reviews supply requisitions and coordinates with requesting department to clarify requirements, specifications, quantity, quality, lead-time, standardization and delivery issues and receiving reports.
  • Oversees purchasing technology systems to ensure a smooth process from requisition to payment.
  • Prepares regular vendor reports detailing supplier performance regarding service, price and quality.
  • Works with suppliers to manage the return and replacement of materials damaged, defective, missing or not meeting the purchasing specification ensuring appropriate credit is received.
  • Maintains effective communication between vendors and various internal stakeholders and departments.

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree in business or accounting preferred, equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Three to five years of experience in purchasing management or accounts payable.
  • Two years of increasingly responsible management experience in the maritime industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of contract law, the Uniform Commercial Code and DOT regulations.
  • Knowledge of automated procurement and inventory control systems.
  • Well-developed written oral communications and human relation skills evidenced in dealing with vendors, staff and all levels of Centerline Logistics employees.
  • Ability to plan and manage projects and obtain goals that may shift with changing priorities.
  • Skill in leading productive and efficient intra and inter-department meetings.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive communications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of domestic sources of supply.
  • Ability to be analytical and decisive.
  • Ability to understand and execute complex oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently or with no guidance.

Job Condition and Environment

  • Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk

Expected Hours of Work

  • Normal office hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Thursday with remote-flex on Friday
  • May be required to travel domestically
