Centered Health is Hiring a Weekend Psychiatric Technician - Entry Level Near Moorpark, CA

As a Psychiatric Technician you'll reporting to the Program Administrator, and join a team of about 10 Psychiatric Technicians and be responsible to provide rehabilitative support regarding the care of a co-occurring population. You'll ensure that clients and staff have what they need to follow the lead of the Clinical Director and Program Director. If you have experience in jobs involving significant interaction with people along with a service mindset and a desire to help others, this position offers you some great opportunities.

We have multiple opportunities available for the Weekend Psychiatric Technicians.
Currently, we are hiring for the following shift:
7am to 7pm for both Saturday and Sundays.
Starting Pay is between $18 to $20 per hour deepening upon the experience you bring
 
 You will:
  • Support the delivery of mental health treatment to residential clients in a broad role that includes taking vitals, facilitating activities, and more. If you work weekends you'll accompany clients on outings to attractions like Disneyland and Universal Studios. 
  • Expand your knowledge and experience; this is a great role if you are in school or just starting your career in mental health care.
  • Work with and learn from clinicians in multiple disciplines and may have opportunities to sit in on group sessions.
  • Join a great staff running proven programs in a resort-like setting. You'll enjoy the same chef-prepared meals as the clients and there is always coffee and snacks available.
 To be considered for the Psychiatric Technician opportunity, you will have:
  • A high school diploma or GED 
  • A valid First Aid & CPR certification is required (or the ability to obtain it in short order upon starting will be considered) 
  • A CNA or bachelor's degree in Psychology or another related field is a plus
  • Experience in roles involving interacting with people; experience in mental health care and/or social services is preferred but not required.
  • Compassion and a genuine desire to work with the population served
  • A collaborative, patient, and understanding approach along with a willingness to be assertive as necessary
  • The ability to identify and resolve issues promptly
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivation and the ability to accomplish daily tasks with minimal supervision, as well as a team-player mindset
  • A track record of reliability and punctuality
 Here is a sampling of your specific responsibilities:
  • Responsible for conducting client intake/discharge inventories and documenting all items in the EMR system.
  • Provide line-of-sight supervision to clients throughout your shift.
  • Provide and facilitate educational and support groups assigned and promptly document these activities in the client’s records.
  • Strive to increase professional growth and effectiveness by completing all required training in a timely fashion.
  • Provides crisis intervention services when authorized and necessary.
  • Maintain an active participation with the clients at all times.
  • Prepare and monitor medication self-administration, documenting all details in EMR.
  • Document clients’ daily activities, unusual behavior, and pertinent information in EMR.
  • Communicate with fellow Psych Techs, Therapists, Nurses, and Program Director, on an ongoing basis.
