Maintenance Technician - Drug Abuse Alternatives Center
Center Point DAAC – Santa Rosa, CA
Center Point DAAC (Drug Abuse Alternatives Center) has an opening for a Maintenance Technician. DAAC is in search of a responsible for the efficient and safe maintenance and upkeep of residential and outpatient facilities including buildings and grounds on owned and leased properties. Performs a wide variety of building maintenance and repair work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with contractors and vendors. 
  • Reviews work orders generated by each component, completes requested work and signs off upon completion.
  • Works with managers and directors in obtaining fire clearances for each facility per state regulations.
  • Coordinates with purchasing staff and janitorial contractors, orders parts and writes purchase authorizations.
  • Supervises building and/or maintenance projects
  • Mentors resident helpers in safe maintenance practices, maintaining personal and professional boundaries at all times.
  • Treats clients and prospective clients with professionalism and courtesy at all times.
  •  Assures agency compliance with maintenance and safety aspects of Illness and Injury Prevention Plan 
  • Assesses, tracks and documents multiple projects and deadlines.
Maintenance Duties:
  • Installs/Hangs Doors/Replaces locks 
  • Performs finish carpentry work ie: moldings, trim work, cabinets etc.
  • Hangs pictures and bulletin boards.
  • Repairs damaged sheetrock, textures and paints.
  • Installs windows and replaces glass as needed
  • Finds leaks in roof, broken shingles etc. and makes minor repairs.
  • Assembles furniture and other items as needed.
  •  Replaces broken or defective light switches, sockets, bulbs, fixtures, fluorescent tubes and starters.
  • Performs basic electrical repair./troubleshooting.
  • Performs regular inspection and safety documentation of circuit breakers and related equipment.
  • Suggests and implements methods to conserve energy.
  • Patches of broken asphalt, concrete and plaster surfaces.
  •  Replaces loose bricks or ceramic tiles.
  • Performs interior and exterior painting and surface preparation.
  •  Paints parking lot stripes, parking bumpers and mechanical equipment.
  • Replaces and/or repairs flush valves, faucets and toilets.
  •  Locates and stops leaks in plumbing/clears clogs.
  • Maintains and adjusts motor, pumps and compressors.
  • Lubricates and checks heating, cooling and ventilating systems.
  •  Performs minor sheet metal work.
  •  Cleans carpets/replaces blinds as needed.
  • Landscaping including basic knowledge of irrigation systems 
  • Partners on agency events including marketing functions as needed.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have comprehensive knowledge of facilities maintenance and repair practices. Knowledge of safety and injury prevention practices and the ability to adhere to safety guidelines is critical. Must have experience in coordinating and prioritizing repairs/maintenance at multiple worksites/locations. Ability to effectively communicate with staff and vendors is required. Must be experienced in tracking multiple projects to completion.

  •  Ability to maintain a clear, understandable speaking voice, capable of communicating vital business information to internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to perform physical labor including shoveling, hauling, lifting and carrying objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Accurate and clear vision and hearing.
  • Maintain sufficient digital manipulation skills necessary to utilize a computer keyboard.
  • Sufficient body dexterity to bend, stoop, reach for and utilize standard maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management, co-workers and vendors by telephone and/or in person.
  • Ability to function effectively within a busy working environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines while responding to crisis situations.
  • Availability for working evenings and/or weekends.
  • Ability to walk facility periodically for safety and the ability to respond to emergency situations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
