For the Unit Clerk position, the responsibilities are, but are not limited to:
• Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
• Prioritizes and works independently in organizing the nursing unit station, keeping station clean and presentable.
• Ensures call lights and telephone are answered in a timely manner and ensures messages are recorded and delivered in a timely manner.
• Serves as liaison between physicians, staff members and other departments.
• Answers telephone in a courteous manner exchanging information in an appropriate manner which requires good oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates pleasant, professional communication skills when speaking with patients, visitors, nursing staff, physicians, volunteers and personnel from other departments.
• Properly plans/organizes work for assigned shift to properly utilize time, resources, manpower and supplies to ensure patient receives appropriate quality care.
• Maintains confidentiality of privileged information.
• Adheres to St. Martha’s policies, procedures, all safety plans, and all standards imposed by regulatory organizations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Previous secretarial skills preferred A minimum of 1-year experience in purchasing, preferably in a skilled care setting
Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language.
Healthcare and PointClickCare experience a plus
