Qualifications as a Recreation Leader

  • Prepare recreational programs and activities, both in a group setting and individual setting, to meet the functional levels, needs, and interests of residents 
  • Maintain records of residents’ attendance and participation in activities
  • Coordinate activities with other departments as necessary
  • Complete assessments, care plans, and appropriate documentation as needed
  • Follow care plans in providing daily activities for residents
  • Encourage residents to take part in personal development
  • Promote physical, social, and mental well-being of residents
  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Previous experience in long-term care
  • Willingness and patience to work with residents in long-term care facility. 

Shift: Monday to Friday 9-5 with rotating weekends
