**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmology Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical terminology, ophthalmology, and patient care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment.
**Responsibilities:**
- Assist ophthalmologists with patient care, including taking patient histories and performing preliminary eye function testing.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments and equipment.
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, lensometry, and tonometry, visual testing, OCT, Optos.
- Educate patients on proper eye care procedures and contact lens handling.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical record systems.
- Sterilize and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
Must be available to work 7:45am-4:30pm.
**Experience:**
- Prior experience in ophthalmology or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and eye anatomy.
- Familiarity with NextGen health record systems is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Previous experience in medical billing may be beneficial.
