**Description**
The Cook works within the Agencys team model, establishing open communication, support, and accountability among co-workers. The cook is part of a team that provides nutritionally prepared meals, three meals a day, 365 days each year, for DYS Westfield Detention, as part of our Juvenile Justice Services
The cook is responsible for the preparation and implementation of menus which meet the nutritional and other requirements of the Bureau of Nutrition; the cooking of meals; compliance with all local, state, and federal sanitation and hygiene codes; and individual or group work with residents engaged in vocational training
**REQUIREMENTS**:
* Must be 21 years of age
* Graduation from approved cooking school & Baking skills preferred
* Knowledge of local, state, and federal sanitary and health codes
* Serve Safe Certification, required or pass within probationary period
* Prefer experience working with troubled adolescents
* Reliable transportation, must pass DEEC Background Check
