Center for Human Development is Hiring an Accounting Supervisor- Accounts Receivable Near Springfield, MA

The Accounting Supervisor will manage the day to day operations of the Fiscal department including contract accounts receivable, cash receipts and contract billing activities while ensuring compliance with company policies. This role will be responsible for confirming the accuracy of financial transaction processing, while continually assessing the workflow for efficiencies and then communicating recommendations for improvement. The ideal candidate will have a “change agent” mentality, be highly adaptable and offer a supportive leadership style.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage contract billing function, A/R and cash receipts processing ensuring accounts are accurate and followed up on in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate A/R aging reports for review by the Assistant Controller and initiate follow up efforts to collect overdue balances
  • Provide supervision, training and support to assigned staff within the fiscal department
  • Provide research, planning and coordination of initiatives intended to improve Fiscal workflows
  • Coordinates the billing function related to the agency’s portfolio of contracts and grants
  • Facilitates cross training and diversification of staff assignments to support employee development
  • Prepares account reconciliations, monthly closing journal entries, account analyses and annual audit schedules
  • Special projects as assigned
