Representative Payee Specialist – Full-Time Position

Position Summary:

Provide ongoing bill paying and money management services to individuals in the community to enable them to maintain their independence and financial stability. Responsible for establishing and maintaining entitlements and benefits for eligible recipients of Social Security, to create a monthly budget, manage bills and provide personal spending money.

Essential Functions:

• Facilitate timely and accurate consumer disbursements by processing protective payee disbursements following accounting department procedures on a twice weekly basis, and/or by meeting with consumers on a regular basis to assist consumers in preparing checks to pay for consumer’s needs.
• Interface with community resources including Social Security Administration, landlords, utility companies and various creditors on behalf of the consumer.
• Maintain accurate and complete financial records of transactions and bills.
• Complete and submit monthly activity reports.
• Supervise receptionist and clerical staff, assigning and overseeing job duties.

Requirements:

High School Diploma, associate degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred. Two to five years’ experience in accounting or bookkeeping.

Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, Act 33/34 and FBI clearances will be required. EOE/ADA

Starting Hourly Rate: $16.50/hr
