Center Effort Winery is Hiring a Hospitality Manager Near Arroyo Grande, CA

Position: Hospitality Manager

Reports to: Director of Hospitality

FLSA Status: Exempt

Date: March 2023

General Description: The Hospitality Manager is responsible for the management of key aspects of the guest experience at Center of Effort. This includes providing exceptional customer service through the management of people and systems to engage new members and maintain relationships with current members to ensure sales growth. High standards of quality, efficiency, and presentation must be enforced in keeping with our company focus on Quality, Sustainability and Hospitality. This position is a salaried position and bonus eligible at the discretion of Corbett Vineyards, LLC. Based on California exempt employee labor laws, this position is not eligible for gratuities.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

Management and Training

  • Mentor and train hospitality sales team to meet the Center of Effort standard for guest experience in wine and food service.
  • Manage technology platforms for online reservations (TOCK) and POS (OrderPort) to maintain efficient and accurate execution of hospitality offerings.
  • Manage hospitality sales team schedule based on volume and seasonality.
  • Foster a positive, productive, happy and team focused work environment.
  • Responsible to report weekly metrics to the team and management, communicating goals and celebrating team successes.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Hospitality in development of SOPs to document expected safety, compliance, and service standards. Ensure that these standards are being adhered to.

Daily Operations/Guest Experience

  • Responsible to ensure the guest’s experience is consistent in quality at every step from booking to follow up. Tailor guest experience to result in the conversion of revenue and memberships.
  • Manage hospitality sales team and oversee tastings with members and visitors of the winery.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Hospitality and Culinary Manager to develop and implement all winery guest offerings. Shared responsibility with the Culinary Manager for execution of experiences at a high level.
  • Manage and maintain inventory levels of all hospitality supplies for customers, wine club, shipping and staff needs.
  • Flexibility in meeting guest, management, and ownership requests.

Social Media

  • Collaborate with the Director of Hospitality on creating a social media plan.
  • Execute the digital strategy across all social platforms in collaboration with the Director of Hospitality.

Events

  • Play an integral role in conceiving, planning, and overseeing onsite and virtual events for members and guests.
  • Lead the service staff during private member events.
  • Represent Center of Effort at offsite events and pouring opportunities.

Wine Club

  • Assist with the planning, preparation, and completion of wine club shipments.
  • Work with Director of Hospitality to develop wine club inserts, tech sheets and tasting notes.

Position requirements:

  • At least 2 years in a customer focused hospitality environment in a manager or assistant manager position.
  • Available to work a Thursday-Monday schedule including some evenings and many holidays.
  • Ability to provide exceptional service to all winery guests. Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about people, service and hospitality.
  • Team player who is an effective communicator, open-minded, exhibits good listening skills, and is willing to adapt and learn in a changing environment.
  • Knowledge of CRM and POS systems (OrderPort a plus).
  • Maintain valid Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service Certifications.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and carry loads up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license.
