- Delivers compassionate nursing care while achieving patient satisfaction and positive clinical outcome
- Answers call lights and assists patients in a timely manner
- Communicates with nursing staff and care team effectively, both verbally and in writing and carries out directives
- Administers services within the applicable scope of practice
- Charts notes in a professional and appropriate manner that is timely, accurate and thoroughly reflects the care provided to the patient, as well as the patient’s response to the care. Uses only approved abbreviations
- Greets new patients and escort them to their room
- Report all changes in the patients to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse as soon as practical
- Reports all accidents and incidents observed on the shift in which they occur
- Administers medication, IV’s (if certified), tube feedings, etc, and follows treatment plan per medical orders
- Evaluates lab and x-ray results; notifies physician of abnormal results
- Contributes to nursing assessment and care planning
- Makes patients rounds, checks and observes care rendered by staff, and promptly answers patient calls regardless of assignment
- Supervise C.N.A.s and provides ongoing guidance and support
- Maintains knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as adheres to, upholds, and enforces all facility policies and procedures.
- Notifies Charge Nurse and Director of Nursing of any falls or changes in condition
- Maintains a working knowledge of infection control procedures
- May be responsible for the admissions of new patients to include all admission assessments and documentation.
- Provide information and instruction to patients and their families in areas such as patient rights
- Provide evaluation, observation, data collection and diagnostic services to assigned re patients
- Must be a licensed Certified Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with laws of this state
- Must maintain an unencumbered license and must report any issues to HR
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, patient, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult patient.
- Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
- Must be able to relate information concerning a patient’s condition.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace.
