Job Description

Centennial Lending is a growing organization and is recruiting for an entry-level Borrower Solutions and Loss Mitigation Specialist. Training for this position and the majority of work will be performed onsite at our Firestone, CO location.

The Borrower Solutions and Loss Mitigation Specialist works closely with our loan servicing department and primarily assists mortgage and auto lease borrowers. This role has broad responsibilities and opportunities including monitoring and communicating daily regarding delinquent loans, understanding investor guidelines (FNMA, FHLB, FHA, USDA), establishing communication with borrowers and credit union investors, offering financial solutions including modifications or deferrals, and reporting delinquency status to perspective investors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Centennial Lending is a growing organization and is recruiting for an entry level Borrower Solutions and Loss Mitigation Specialist. Centennial Lending will provide the training needed to perform Essential Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Initiates phone calls and emails with borrowers to assist in resolving issues that prevent timely payment. This includes documenting any updates and resolutions based on phone and email communication.
  • Generates delinquency notices and regulatory notifications to all delinquent mortgage and auto lease borrowers.
  • Interfaces with FNMA, FHLB, VA, FHA, and investor credit unions regarding ongoing loss mitigation activity and or delinquency status.
  • Coordinates and processes requests/applications for modifications/deferrals on mortgage loans and ensures that proper reporting is completed.
  • Maintains accurate records of ongoing borrower correspondence.
  • Provides reports to management and investors as necessary.
  • Other loan servicing duties as assigned.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or at least two years of financial industry experience is required.
  • Prior experience with Collections is preferred.
  • Familiarity with credit and all bureaus

Applicable Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to manage workflow, deadlines, and reporting.
  • Ability to problem solve and initiate resolution within guidance from specific investor.
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers, outlook, word processing, CSV and Excel spreadsheets, PDF, as well as other related applications
  • Define problems, collect data, and resolve issues and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Ability to engage in professional communication--both verbally and in writing
  • Concurrently manage multiple time-sensitive projects and duties
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common, technical, and industry specific documents.
