Position Summary:

Cennox values our cybersecurity team’s role in protecting our sensitive data from attack. We’re seeking an experienced and vigilant cybersecurity specialist who can proactively prevent breaches of all sizes, understand when and how they occur, and take immediate steps to remediate them. In this role, you’ll help keep cybercrime at bay, using your expertise and analytics skills to monitor our data at all points of contact, ferret out malware and ransomware events, and recommend solutions to minimize vulnerabilities. Our ideal candidate has an understanding of cybersecurity standards and certifications, extensive knowledge on how cybercriminals work, and the determination to never let them in.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Guard all company data, particularly sensitive data, from both internal and external threats by designing broad defenses against would-be intruders
• Take the lead on day-to-day monitoring for unusual activities, implement defensive protocols, and report incidents
• Collaborate with other members of the Cennox team to develop new protocols, layers of protection, and other proactive and defensive systems that stay one step ahead of cyber criminals
• Maintain security guidelines, procedures, standards and controls documentation
• Maintain a working knowledge of current cybercrime tactics
• Stay current on security requirements and bests practices for all jurisdictions in which Cennox operates
• Collect data on current security measures for risk analysis and write regular systems-status reports
• Constantly monitor for attack and run appropriate defensive protocols if breaches occur
• Conduct vulnerability testing to identify weaknesses and collaborate with cybersecurity team to update defensive protocols as necessary
• Configure anti-virus systems, firewalls, data centers and software updates with a security-first mindset
• Grant credentials to authorized users, monitor access-related activities and check for unregistered information changes
• Help lead employee training against phishing and other forms of cyberattack
• Assess cybersecurity status of newly acquired companies, develop plans to align security of those companies to ours and implement those plans.

Qualifications:

• Degree in information systems, information technology or related field
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in cybersecurity at a mid- to large-size business
• Strong knowledge of IT, including hardware, software and networks
• A meticulous eye for detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, logic, and forensics skills
• Ability to work successfully in both individual and team settings
• Ability to think like a hacker in order to stay one step ahead of threats to the company

• Ability to sit and stay focused for long periods of time
