GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES – Responsible for performing various neurocognitive test evaluations and interview/ratings on study participants specific to the study protocol.

SUPERVISOR – Director, Clinical Operations

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Perform interviews/ratings with study subjects to determine current levels of functioning and to create a clinical impression of the study subject’s current mood throughout the duration of the study.
  • Responsible for completing organizational queries regarding neuro-psych testing.
  • Maintain professional and appropriate interactions with sponsors and all other study-related personnel, subjects, families, and clinical staff members.
  • Utilize interpersonal and clinical skills to assist in appropriate management of difficult study subjects.
  • Actively participates in acquiring ongoing knowledge and instruction.
  • Provides proactive alternative choices in order to continue the growth and prosperity of the corporation.
  • Anticipates and creates solutions before problems arise.
  • Assists management in maintaining a positive, motivated work environment.
  • Responsible for professional conduct to include dress and interpersonal skills.
  • Properly manages voice mail, e-mail and exhibits proper telephone etiquette.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of clinical research psychiatric and cognitive rating scales (e.g., ADAS-Cog-13, MOCA, MMSE, ADCS-ADL-MCI, APANNS, SCID, MINI, MADRS, HAM-A, HAM-D, CGI/CGI-S, YMRS, etc.)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Knowledge of electronic equipment (i.e, iPads, recording devices, e-mail, computers, fax machines, copiers, etc).
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer study subject care.
  • Skill in organization and problem-solving.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with study subjects, families, staff, and the public.
  • Ability to provide strong leadership and mentor others.
  • Ability to complete paperwork with precision and attention to detail.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently as well as functioning as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and verbally.

EDUCATION

  • Masters Degree in Healthcare or Education required. PhD, MD, DO, preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • 2 years clinical experience with psychiatric study subjects.
  • 2 years experience in the medical profession, and/or previous research experience.

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE – Preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS - Requires prolonged sitting, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Requires lifting papers or boxes up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work is performed in an office environment. However, may go into the laboratory, or medical areas. Therefore, being exposed to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people.
