Vice President of Investments, TMGOC Ventures

Location: In-person in TMGOC’s Boca Raton, FL or Charleston, SC office

TMGOC Ventures is seeking a Vice President of Investments to join the team in its Boca Raton or Charleston office. This position involves responsibilities for both originating and evaluating new investments and directly managing the company’s existing portfolio.

TMGOC Ventures is a real estate and development private equity firm with more than 150 years of combined experience specializing in the hospitality and multi-family sectors. Co-founded by Sunju Patel and Glenn Alba, TMGOC Ventures was born out of an entrepreneurial spirit and is guided by an institutional mindset focused on acquiring and developing a robust hotel and residential portfolio that creates value for investors, partners, and communities.

Responsibilities, Investments:

• Report directly to the CIO (located in Colorado)
• Source, diligence, underwrite and summarize new acquisition, development, and preferred equity opportunities for the company
•  Manage and mentor analyst underwriting 
• Implement best practices underwriting standards per company direction and/or market experience
• Coordinate diligence requests and diligence review in conjunction with analyst
• Recommend and research outside data sources for additional market color and diligence
• Identify qualitative considerations not represented by returns metrics
•  Manage preparation and distribution of investment packages for internal debt and equity outreach
• Manage investor questions and follow up
• Manage broker assembly of investment packages and data sites for outsourced debt and equity outreach
• Assist CIO with negotiation and closing of new debt and equity investments
• Manage underwriting updates as needed for existing pipeline investments
• Anticipate and quantify returns impacts of changes to schedule, budget, and financing assumptions
• Perform/oversee additional analysis and projections as needed

Responsibilities, Asset Management:

• Oversee affiliate Hotel Management Company (Lexima Lodging) at select properties
• Participate in regular (weekly, monthly) operations discussions with Lexima team
• Suggest and implement strategies to improve property performance 
• Oversee monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes
• Work closely with VP of Portfolio Management (located in Boca Raton) to assemble regular quarterly investor reporting packages, as needed
• Implement semi-annual asset valuation strategy and reporting process
• Respond to ad-hoc investor questions regarding property performance
• Perform/oversee additional analysis and projections as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in finance, real estate, economics, or a related field. Masters degree or MBA a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in real estate investment/advisory or real estate asset management. Hotel investment and underwriting experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both for formal and informal, internal and external communications. 
• Candidate should be able to effectively communicate, connect, and manage teams in multiple locations and time zones while managing a wide diversity of tasks. 
• Candidate should possess expert level proficiency with Excel and an intermediate level of proficiency with PowerPoint
